Paula Hinds is one of Barbados’ top vocalists. Quoted from the Sunday Sun newspaper, July 9th 2006, the following was said of Paula’s voice when
she sang in front of U.S Ambassador, Mary Kramer on the occasion of Fourth of July Independence Celebration “..where Paula whose extraordinary
rich gospel voice can make the angels stop and listen.” Indeed, Paula’s voice is a magnificent cacophony of mesmerising melodies and powerful lyrics,
a rendering which can even make a grown man cry.
To name but a few to her credit at the 2006 Barbados Music Awards, Paula was awarded the Cornerstone Awards, for Significant Contribution to the
development of the Barbadian Music Industry. In January 2007 at the Barbados Music Awards she was a performer and nominee along with the likes of
Rihanna and L’ll Rick. Also in 2007, she was a guest artist at the “A tribute to Rihana – Believe” concert. She was the recipient of the MSC award
for Female Vocalist of the year on 3 consecutive occasions and an ambassador for Barbados in the Caribbean, Africa and the USA. She has sung and
performed in several stage plays internationally, including “Speak Life” and “Garden of Hope”.
